Micki Washburn MA, LPC - Psychotherapist / Nationally Certified Counselor
Background and Training:
 
Micki Washburn graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Rice University in Houston Texas, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Psi Chi honor societies.  She went on to receive her Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston Clear Lake.  She then completed post -graduate work in Counseling Psychology at New Mexico State University.  
 
Upon return to Houston, Micki worked for a local non-profit community based organization doing counseling and education for individuals with HIV and/or substance abuse issues.  She has conducted educational seminars on these topics at both State and National conventions. 
 
Micki's most recent lecture discussed "Implications of Memory in Medical and Mental Health Treatment".  Another recent lecture "Emo, Ignore or Intervene", explored Emo in the public school system.  She has conducted seminars on a variety of topics related to counseling and psychological issues.  Contact her via email to schedule a presentation for your group or agency.
 
Micki is currently in private practice specializing in the treatment of depression and anxiety disorders as well as LGBT therapy, and has served as an Adjunct Instructor of Psychology for the Houston Community College System.
